The prosecution told chief magistrate Daniel Ogemba that Bishop James Karimi committed the offense in the Nairobi CBD on August 20 this year.

According to the prosecution, Karimi stole the Sh1.8 million Range Rover without knowledge of the owner.

He is facing two more counts of fraud where according to the Star, he issued bad cheques to Mr Mohamed yet he knew his bank account had inadequate funds.

Karimi, however, denied the charges and was released on a Sh100,000 cash bail.
