Gakuyo who is also a member of the United for Kiambu Alliance says that disunity between Waititu, Nyoro and county leaders will cripple the county’s development plans.

Speaking to journalists in Thika Town on Tuesday, Gakuyo said that there is no need for elected leaders to wrangle over power.

“Power comes and goes, what remains is the impact elected leaders make on the society and the people,” he said.

Gakuyo said that Kiambu will stall if its leaders fail to unite.

He said that it’s the responsibility of every leader to ensure that he does what he or she was elected to do.

The Cavalry Bishop who is also a politician asked Kiambu resident’s to demand services from their elected leaders.

“Kenyans have a right to demand services and even recall leaders who fail to perform and deliver on their various mandate,” he added.

Gakuyo said that Waititu and Nyoro are great leaders who can propel Kiambu to prosperity if they put their interests aside.

On Monday, Waititu, Nyoro and Kiambu women rep Gathoni Wa Muchomba buried their hatchet and agree to work together.

In a meeting convened by Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi and attended by all elected leaders, Waititu and Nyoro agreed to shelve their issues for the sake of development.

The two top Kiambu leaders had fallen out with Nyoro accusing Waititu of sidelining him and the executive in the running of county affairs.
