Deputy President William Ruto told mourners in Eldoret that the late Bishop Korir once visited his family and taught them to say the Lord's prayer seven times.
Speaking in Eldoret during the burial ceremony of the late Bishop Korir, the Deputy President mourned a great peace-maker in the region.
The Deputy President noted that he had maintained good ties with the late since he was posted in Eldoret while he served as a member of parliament of Eldoret North.
He assured the Nation that, in line with the Bishop's desire, the North Region will not witness any more violence.
"Bishop Korir taught us to refuse, resist and reject division, hate, ethnicity, and violence."
Retired President Moi also mourned Bishop Korir noting that he has lost a great friend he often consulted, particularly in 1992 when multi-party politics was introduced.
