There was a light moment at Bishop Korir’s funeral service on Saturday.
This happened when Garissa Catholic Bishop Joseph Alessandro told the hundreds of mourners who had turned up that the late Bishop wanted to meet leaders of the Al Shabaab group.
“Bishop Korir always wanted to come to Garissa. Not for a church function but to meet the leaders of the Al Shabaab group,” said the bishop.
The service is being attended by mourners from all over the country including President Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto.
He will be laid to rest this afternoon inside The Holy Rosary Cathedral in Eldoret town.
