Bishop Margaret Wanjiru was on Thursday admitted at the Nairobi Hospital.

Wanjiru fell ill on Thursday night and was rushed to the medical facility at around 11pm.

"It is not clear what she is suffering from but she was brought here on Thursday at 11pm," reports The Star.

The former Starehe MP was arrested on Wednesday and detained for five days after being charged with malicious damage of property and causing disturbance during the Jubilee Primaries.

Wanjiru finished third in the race for Nairobi governor Jubilee Party ticket.

Senator Mike Sonko clinched the ticket, beating Peter Kenneth.

Yesterday, the Bishop was taken to Kileleshwa police station and asked to provide the medical documents to prove that she was not feeling well.

On Friday, she was released on a Sh100,000 cash bail.
