Machakos County Catholic member of clergy, Bishop Anthony Muheria on Tuesday urged all members of clergy to get into deep prayers to redeem Kenya from the chaos its being faced with, which have gone as far as getting lives lost, innocent people injured including children and properties worth millions of shillings lost.
Speaking during reopening of Kabaa parish, in Mwala sub-county, where he was accompanied by Mwala MP, Vincent Musyoka, the Bishop said that the ongoing IEBC clashes seem to be getting worse and Kenya needs prayers so that God brings peace.
"Kenya has been a peaceful country and if we go before God humbly in prayer, He will restore peace to us," preached Bishop Muheria.
The IEBC clashes came about when Cord raised claims that its commission should be dismantled, claiming that Kenyans don't trust the current IEBC commission led by Marjan Hussein.
Cord, therefore, started organizing demonstrations every Monday which have led to loss of lives, people getting injured and destruction of property.
The government declared the demonstration banned after Monday of June 6, while Cord threatened to increase the demonstration days to Mondays and Thursdays if the issue is not solved.
