Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Margaret Wanjiru has denied ever giving out money to her supporters at political rallies.

Wanjiru said that the allegations were the work of her detractors out to ensure that she does not win the Jubilee ticket to dethrone incumbent Governor Evans Kidero.

"That is the work of my detractors. I have been in politics long enough to know that giving money to supporters is a crime," the bishop said.

A video clip doing rounds on social media shows Wanjiru dishing out money to supporters at a rally where she is flanked by bodyguards.

However, she has distanced herself from the clip and said she is not the one captured.
