The Commission for University Education has put out a laundry list of requirements that it wants all universities in the country to embrace.
This is after investigations revealed that universities were flouting standards that are required of institutions of higher learning.
These raft of changes that the regulatory wants universities to effect will criminalise the sad reality of crowded lecture halls, unhygienic messes, and lecturers skipping classes.
Food served to students will have to be affordable and meeting certain standards., the CUE has ordered.
The commission's chairman, Prof. Chacha Nyaigotti also said that universities will have to invest in technology and make sure that the problem of missing marks is consigned to the dustbin of history.
Chacha said this in a stern presentation putting university management teams on notice to provide a world-class education to students.
This means that regulations governing higher education will be strengthened in a bid to improve the learning environment for students.
