The body of the late former powerful minister Nicholas Biwott is set to be airlifted to Eldoret town, Wednesday, ahead of the burial scheduled for Thursday in the neighboring Elgeyo Marakwet county.
According to a communication from the burial planning committee, Eldoret chapter, there will also be church service for the former Keiyo South MP.
"The body of the late will arrive at Eldoret Airstrip on Wednesday 19th July at 10am and will travel by road to Biwott Day Mixed School where there will be a Church service from 11am," said Committee's Secretary Albert Kochei in a communication on Monday.
Kochei is the Elgeyo Marakwet County Assembly Speaker.
"We therefore invite all the people of Elgeyo Marakwet county and friends to attend the church Service since that will be the opportune time for members of public to eulogies the late hero," he added.
Biwott who died last week aged 77 after a long illness will be laid to rest at his home in Toot village, Elgeyo Markwet county, next to the graves of his parents, the late Mzee Cheserem Biwott and Mother Maria Soti.
The funeral ceremony will be conducted at Maria Soti Girls’ Secondary School, about three kilometres from Toot village.
