The government has withdrawn the security of NASA principals, Kalonzo Musyoka has said.
He noted that all security detail belonging to his three colleagues, Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula had been withdrawn prior to the scheduled controversial swearing-in at Uhuru Park grounds on Tuesday.
Addressing the press from his Karen home in Nairobi, Musyoka criticised the move by the government, saying NASA would not be intimidated or cowed.
He also reacted to the switching off of local television stations, saying the freedom of media was under attack.
“My security detail has been withdrawn. I hope sincerely that our supporters can see what we are going through. Every security detail was taken away. But this is a very important struggle and we are still consulting," said Kalonzo.
"The media is under attack and now the remaining security detail assigned to us has been taken away," he added.
He further called on NASA supporters at Uhuru Park to remain calm, awaiting the next step.
The Ministry of Interior and Coordination is yet to respond to the alleged withdrawal.
