A day after North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko hinted mass exodus from both Jubilee and ODM parties in honor of a more indigenous outfit, more MPs have joined the bandwagon.

Should the unity deal among Abagusii leaders materialise, major political parties will suffer a huge blow given the support they enjoy from the populous region.

Understandably, leaders from both Nyamira and Kisii Counties have organised a mega meeting later on this month, which will also be proceeded by yet another all important call by elders from the region.

For over a decade now, ODM leader Raila Odinga has dominated the region with his party and coalition also benefiting in subsequent elections.

"This is an idea whose time has come. There is no turning back because this is the ideal time to chat or way forward," said Ben Momanyi, a second term Borabu MP.

Similar sentiments have been backed by Kitutu Masaba's Shadrack Mose, who says a common political party would increase the bargaining power of the community.

"Only a fool can oppose unity calls. This is an idea we are not going to frustrate. Our bargaining power will be substantially boosted."

Over the weekend, leaders drawn from Nyamira openly campaigned for Interior CS Fred Matiang'i, who they want to deputise DP William Ruto.
