The team mainly from Minnesota led by Alex Momanyi had insisted that Gesami was the right candidate to take over from the incumbent Governor John Nyagarama.

However, in a quick rejoinder, aspiring Bonyamatuta MCA Innocent George Morara dismissed the endorsement as non-inclusive insisting that the US team had not settled on a specific candidate.

“I have read an article that Nyamira people living in the US have endorsed West Mugirango MP for Nyamira gubernatorial seat. The endorsement is untimely and uncalled for because we haven’t been consulted,” he said.

“I have talked with a number of people from North West and the Middle States and none knows about the endorsements. We need change but the change is only driven by the entire population in Nyamira,” he added.

Asked whether the team had a preferred candidate, Morara insisted that the US team would wait till the campaigns shape up before making a determination.

“We do not have a preferred candidate but we are waiting till the campaigns take shape. That is when we shall give our common stand,” he said.
