The High court has just ruled that plans by the Government and the Communications Authority to record private phone conversations is illegal.
The court has said that the plans were a violation of consumer rights.
In February 2017, the Government said that there was a need to listen to calls and read text messages sent to mobile users.
It said that it had plans to allow a company to do the tracking.
However, the court feels like that will be interfering with the privacy of Kenyans.
