The Jubilee Party has received a major blow after the political parties dispute tribunal extended orders stopping its merger with Party of National Unity.
The tribunal has however allowed PNU to hold its annual delegates conference on October 28.
Last week, the tribunal barred registrar of Political Parties Lucy Ndung'u from declaring that the party had officially joined JP.
PNU secretary general John Okwema had moved before the tribunal to contest the merger.
The party which was used by retired President Mwai Kibaki to seek re-election in 2007 was divided with some officials claiming that it had joined Jubilee wile others were against it.
Party leader Peter Munya has been vocal in protesting the merger stating that JP was being dictatorial in forcing other parties to join it.
The merger dispute is set to be heard on October 6, 2016
