For decades, the region has been viewed as tossup with ODM leader Raila Odinga reaping big for the last decade in presidential elections.

But by the end of this month, elected leaders have been summoned by elders who want to push for creating of a political party that will be used for bargaining.

"It is true that both Nyamira and Kisii leaders have been summoned by elders. One of the agenda is about forming a single party," said North Mugirango MP Ben Momanyi.

And in South Mugirango on Tuesday, area MP Sylvanus Osoro, hinted a plot for 'like minded' politicians to form a new outfit in support of CS Fred Matiang'i for Deputy President.

"We have numbers and we cannot continue depending on Jubilee and ODM. We shall fix this matter once and for all. Our community is ripe for DP position," he added.

Multiple sources hints that deputy president William Ruto is secretly funding the unity, in which he wants the community to vote as a block in 2022.

Should a new party be formed by the end of this month or early May,  several leaders are expected to denounce their current parties for the new outfit.
