A top Jubilee Party official has defected to the Orange Democratic Movement party.
The development is a clear indicator that political realignments in preparation for the 2017 polls have began.
Kisumu East TNA Chairman Ben Adega decamped to the Orange party and reports indicate more officials holding executive positions in Jubilee Party are joining the Cord coalition.
Mr Edega was received by Kisumu County ODM Chairman Prof Ayiecho Olweny and Nyando MP Fred Outa at a colourful ceremony held at Obwolo in Kisumu East.
Adega cited party frustration as the principal reason for his move.
He claimed Jubilee Party was undemocratic.
He said he will fight to ensure other officials resign and join Cord affiliated parties.
Adega said he would actively campaign for Cord leader RailaOdinga in the 2017 polls.
He had contested for the position of MP in 2013 but lost to current Kisumu East MP Shakeel Shabbir.
