ODM National Treasurer John Mbadi will have to wait until Wednesday [today] to know whether he will be his party’s flag bearer in Suba South constituency in August.
This is after Political Parties Dispute Tribunal barred his party from awarding him nomination certificate until a case filed by his opponent Carol Omondi is heard and determined.
Despite the ODM tribunal court calling for repeat of Suba elections or alternative awarding of Mr. Omondi with certificate, NEB settled on Mbadi as flag bearer.
The tribunal’s chairman Kyalo Mbobu has since certified the matter as urgent in the orders issued on Monday.
Mbadi, the second term MP, has been summoned along with returning officer Dancan Nyobilo and the ODM party has been named as respondent in the matter.
Caroli, a former aide of opposition leader Raila Odinga, claims that the nominations were marred with massive irregularities and voter bribery.
According to statistics in Orange House, Mbadi was declared a winner after having garnered over 800 votes above his opponent.
