Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has been dealt a blow after businessman Chris Kirubi rejected his offer to become the County Chief Economic Advisor, if he wins the gubernatorial election.
On Saturday, Sonko posted on Facebook that he was keen to onboard technocrats tow work with him
He revealed that there were plans to have billionaire Kirubi as Chief County Economic Advisor.
Sonko also asked his supporters to recommend his running mate.
"I am and have always been a team player who will delegate, assign, and appoint professionals to run the affairs of the county, to that effect, plans are underway to make investor Chris Kirubi as our county's Chief Economic Advisor," Sonko's statement on Facebook read in part.
But in a response, Kirubi said he has never met Sonko and does not even have his mobile number.
"How do you offer a job to someone you have never met or spoken to? I don't know this man neither do I have his number?" Kirubi asked.
The billionaire businessman noted that he was not interested in politics, as he was busy with international engagements.
"I am not interested in politics, I work for International organizations and I have no time for Sonko’s job offer," he said.
Sonko will face Peter Kenneth and Margaret Wanjiru in Jubilee nominations on Wednesday.
