12 Members of Parliament have backed Peter Kenneth’s Nairobi gubernatorial bid.

The MPs accompanied the former Gatanga lawmaker to present his nomination papers to Jubilee Party on Wednesday.

They are: Waihenya Ndirangu (Roysambu), John Chege (Kasarani), James Mwangi (Embakasi North) and John Ndirangu (Embakasi Central).

Others were George Theuri (Embakasi West), Benson Mutura (Makadara), Yusuf Hassan (Kamukunji), Maina Kamanda (Starehe, TNA), Steven Kariuki (Mathare, ODM), Nairobi Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh and Sonia Birdi (Nominated).

This could dent Sonko’s bid as he has lost support of some of the MPs allied to Jubilee.

Other politicians seeking the Jubilee Party ticket to vie for Nairobi governor are: Johnson Sakaja, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru and Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru.
