Kakamega gubernatorial aspirant Mabel Muruli has decamped from Musalia Mudavadi - led Amani National Congress to the ruling Jubilee Party.
Speaking in Kisumu on Monday, Ms Muruli cited frustrations in ANC in her bid to oust governor Wycliffe Oparanya, before moving to Jubilee Party which she claimed was receiving a lot of support in Kakamega.
“ANC was not keen on backing me and after consultation with my supporters I made a choice to work with Jubilee party for their own good,” She said.
But in a quick rejoinder, ANC Secretary General Godfrey Osotsi downplayed Ms Muruli's allegations about the party, noting that Muruli has never been a member in ANC.
“Mabel Muruli has never been a registered member or aspirant of ANC. She cannot be frustrated by a party she has never joined,” Osotsi said.
