The NASA political outfit has received a massive blow after acting Interior CS Fred Matiang'i issued firm directives on officials that will be allowed at voting centres.
Matiang'i has given raft orders that will pick jeopardy in any NASA supporter remaining at the polling stations to 'guard' votes against rigging.
Speaking at the Kenya School of Government when he met security officials led by Inspector General Joseph Boinnet, the acting CS said that only presiding officers, their deputies, polling clerks and accredited party agents are the ones to be allowed at polling stations on August 8.
"There is no room anywhere in the law or even in the arrangements that we have for anybody collecting hoodlums in the name of protecting ballot boxes and taking them to polling stations," the CS said on Friday as quoted by the Star.
He said police officers will not leave room for any chaos at polling stations and added that officers will remain firm on any unaccredited persons.
"The protection of ballot is our responsibility with the IEBC and we have not asked anyone for help," Matiang'i added.
"Anyone who is not mentioned in the circular should be removed from the polling stations by all means possible."
This will be a huge blow to NASA after investing heavily in the adopt-a-polling-station initiative with funds sourced from donors for the same.
