President Uhuru Kenyatta’s lead lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi terms Raila Odinga’s petition as ‘poorly’ researched and wants the Supreme Court to dismiss it.
For the next three days, top lawyers from both sides will be seeking to defend their applications in court in support or against the petition challenging Uhuru’s reelection.
And on Saturday during the pretrial conference, Abdullahi accused NASA lead lawyer of compelling IEBC to assist them with evidence.
“My Lord it’s improper for the petitioners to coerce institutions to give evidence. When they compiled a petition, they should have gathered enough evidence.
“But is surprises me that they are now gathering new evidence which is in total contravention of the law. Their case is poorly researched and should be thrown out,” he said.
Earlier, James Orengo had asked the court to compel EBC to allow his side to access Forms 34A and Forms 34B and the servers used in transmission of results.
Ahmednassir however said his side will not allow addition of new evidence to the court because it would be prejudicial to his clients.
