Raila Odinga’s ODM party suffered yet again a major blow following mass exodus of close to 2000 members to rival Jubilee party.
Currently, the opposition team is embroiled in a tag war with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party following the disputed October elections.
And with reference to recently concluded elections at Kitutu Chache South, the team under James Magare now wants to leave the Orange party.
“We better work with Jubilee where we are appreciated than stay where our rights are violated. This is the time we make crucial decisions,” he said.
“Our candidate was denied a chance by the party and we have now to make the move. We rather join the Jubilee party where respect prevails.”
Moments to Tuesday’s elections, Odinga endorsed eventual winner Richard Onyonka of Ford Kenya despite the ODM party fielding Samuel Omwando.
Despite being denounced by his party, Omwando emerged third with 4700 votes, whereas Onyonka managed 10,122 votes.
