Embattled Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka could make a dramatic move to Wiper Democratic Movement ahead of ODM's nominations, a source privy to the information has revealed.
Onyonka, a former ODM rabel, rejoined the party two months ago after months in the ruling Jubilee Party.
The second term MP reportedly engaged in a physical fight with ODM Kisii County interim Chairman Sam Omwando when Raila Odinga visited the region last week.
"Pressure has been too much in ODM and plans have been set for him to switch to Wiper party. He will make that move very soon," said a source who spoke to the writer on condition of anonymity.
"He is not happy with the manner in which ODM leaders are treating him. But he still supports OD leader Raial Odinga's presidential bid," added the source.
Onyonka is facing fierce competition from Mr. Omwando and Nairobi businessman Antony Kibagendi who are both targeting the ODM ticket.
In a text message to the reporter, Onyonka however, rubbished the claims adding that he is in ODM party to stay.
"That is not true. It is rumours being peddled on Facebook and should be ignored," he said.
