Embattled Mombasa Governor Hassan omar and his VDP rival and Nyali MP Hezron Awiti on Saturday vowed to introduce ‘new’ blend of sober leadership in the coastal region.
The two, who shared platform for the first time in as many years, also promised to unveil peaceful campaigns and foster peace among supporters.
Joho, who also doubles as ODM deputy leader, was launching expansion of roads in Nyali constituency and were cheered by excited supporters near Mamba village.
“This is a historic day to remember. The people of Mombasa are united as one,” said Awiti, who recently ditched Wiper Party which he accused of proffering Senator Omar Hassan for governorship.
“I have nothing against my brother Awiti. We are friends and in politics you may not know what happens tomorrow,” said Joho, who political career hands on a thread following forgery of academic certificate claims.
But the meeting could be a blow to Mr. Omar, who has been throwing jibes at Mr. Joho in public forums and in press conferences.
