Elders drawn from Bobasi have distanced themselves from ‘Omogusii Unity’ Movement and said that it doesn’t reflect the real picture of the entire Kisii Community.
Addressing a press conference at Sameta Lounge on Tuesday the elders said that the ‘Omogusii Unity’ was formed deliberately to satisfy individual needs instead of looking forward to entire development in the region.
Led by Christopher Misati the leaders expressed disgrace to the Unity and said that it’s was hindering development of the county that had started showing up in the last three year.
The elders accused current Kisii Senator Chris Obure of politicking every single project being carried by the current Governor James Ongwae and yet they have been working together for the last three years.
“In 2013, leaders from the 6 Kisii clans signed a MoU which formed the County Government and the MoU saw Ongwae and Obure lead the County Government's top most leadership. They were accorded the rare opportunity of leading our people to prosperity but now Obure want to back off a matter that we won’t take lightly,” he added.
They called upon Obure to stop sabotaging Ongwae’s effort of developing Kisii County for he won’t be the leader the county needs.
“It's even horrific that he has gone ahead formed another merry-go-round by the name ''Obomo Bw'Omogusii'' after secretly divorcing our amorphous group formed in consultation across the 6 clans, founded on the pillars of unity and development to a selfish outfit with a selfish agenda and ego driven greedy families without engaging any key stakeholder, In the name of ''Omogusii Unity,'' he added.
