The National Super Alliance (Nasa) has lost at least 500 members to rivals Jubilee Party.

Members of the Kamba community living in Nakuru have pledged to support the re-election bid of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The 500 voters said they defected because they were living  in a ‘Jubilee zone’ – Nakuru County.

“It was impossible for us to align ourselves with those in the eastern part of the country because they have different ideologies,” said Gerald Kilonzo, the group’s chairman, as reported by The Star.

Kilonzo revealed that they had formed campaign groups toe ensure Uhuru beats Raila come October 26.

The defectors lauded Jubilee administration, saying they had launched several development projects which will benefit Kenyans.

“We have been outside government for four years and we have experienced developments by the Jubilee government. We want this time to get involved with the government while in it,” said Kilonzo.

The defectors were welcomed into Jubilee by Nakuru deputy governor Dr Erick Korir and Nakuru county Jubilee party chairman David Manyara.
