Raila Odinga's ODM party has been dealt a heavy blow after three Wajir MPs together with 15 MCAs defected to Jubilee saying they can no longer continue being in the opposition.
MPs Adan Keynan (Eldas), Mohamed Ibrahim (Tarbaj) and Abass Sheikh Mohamed (Wajir East) said their decision was driven by Jubilee's development record in the county .
The MCAs headed by the county speaker Bishar Omar said they want to work with the 'winning team'.
The legislatures who were received by Uhuru Kenyatta in Statehouse urged the president to scale up the government's drought mitigation efforts at the county.
The president hailed the leaders for taking the bold step to work closely with his government for the sake of the people of Wajir.
