Ford Kenya party may have after all endorsed President Uhuru Kenyatta's presidency despite pushing for inauguration of Raila Odinga.
Deputy party leader Richard Onyonka, who also doubles as Kitutu Chache South MP hailed Uhuru for appointment of Fred Matiang'i to cabinet adding that he supports the president.
"As Gusii leaders, we are very happy with reappointment of Matiang'i to cabinet. He has proved his worth and this is great news.
"As a community, we laud the president for that favour and I promise that we shall work hard to cement his vision and legacy for the people of Kenya," he said, at a press conference in parliament.
Not a stranger though to controversy, Onyonka had at one point decamped from ODM to Jubilee before reuniting with Raila's party.
Later, he joined Ford Kenya, in which he went for reelection in November with blessing of Raila Odinga.
