Despite pledging to support Deputy President William Ruto in 2022 elections, a section of Jubilee MPs have however faulted his decision to oppose constitutional amendments.

For weeks now, the DP has vehemently dismissed plans to amend the constitution to expand the executive.

Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose on Sunday said constitutional amendments should prevail to heal the country.

"If the problem has been exclusivity we should face it. People always feel left out of government and this is dangerous. The DP should support the move," he said.

On her part, Nyamira Women Representative Jerusha Momanyi said: "We have little options left other than allowing changes to prevail."

Slightly a month ago, a number of MPs from both Kisii and Nyamira promised ti back Ruto's bid with a condition that he selects Fred Matiang'i as running mate.

Further, the MPs had plotted a meeting later on last month but it failed to matrialise due to internal wrangles.
