Controversial Eldoret-based lawyer Simon Lilan has suffered a major blow after a Court ordered him to pay for costs incurred in a case, in which he filed seeking to stop the burial of former nominated MP Mark Too.

Eldoret Principal Magistrate Harrison Barasa ordered Lilan to pay for the costs, following an application filed by Too's family lawyer Steve Biko.

Biko had told the Court that Lilan had failed to prove his case, therefore, his clients deserved to be paid costs.

The Court directed costs incurred during the case be calcuted and Lilan pays them.

Lilan filed the case January 7, claiming that Too was killed for political reasons and because of his vast wealth.

He managed to get orders stopping the burial, but a day later the family through their lawyers secured another court order allowing the burial to go on.
