President Uhuru Kenyatta’s political setbacks in Gusii region seems far from over as a numbers of his key allies continues to pledge allegiance to opposition team.
On Monday, Kenyan UN Habitat Ambassador Sam Ongeri, a political protagonist joined opposition leader Raila Odinga’s ODM party.
And on Wednesday, a disgruntled former Kitutu Masaba MP Walter Nyambati, confirmed his planned move from Jubilee Party.
Nyambati, who is seeking Nyamira gubernatorial seat, expressed his dissatisfaction in which his Jubilee counterparts from Kisii are treating politicians from Nyamira.
“I am not compelled to be in Jubilee and I am weighing options. Jubilee another party is my decision but I will let people know the party soon,” he was quoted in an audio which went viral on social media networks.
Nyambati also said: “It is all about interest and the will of people. If my people wants me to join the other side, I won’t resist but I will make an announcement soon.”
Also tipped to defect is EALA MP Joseph Kiangoi who joined Jubilee recently from ODM and is said to be unsettled.
Nyambati was appointed Jomo Kenyatta Foundation Chairman by President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2014, a post which he still holds.
