President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reelection bid has suffered a blow following the latest move by Emurua Dikir MP Johanna Ng’eno.
Ng’eno, who was elected on KNC ticket, is seeking reelection on Senator Gideon Moi’s KANU party which had thrown its weight behind Uhuru’s reelection.
On Tuesday, Ng’eno announced his decision to back NASA leader Raila Odinga after Kenyatta failed to apologize to Narok people following a fiasco in which a handful of his supporters were arrested by the police.
“I gave Uhuru one week to apologize to Narok people following arbitrary arrest of our people. This is unacceptable and I have to take an action,” he said.
“I have any of his debt, he is free to come and take. My people will not vote NASA because they have our interest at heart,” he added.
Kenyatta is under pressure from KANU leader to tame DP Ruto whom they accuse of belittling them in various public functions.
Ng’eno’s move comes barely a week before the grand tour of opposition outfit NASA in the vote rich Narok County which was a tossup in 2013 elections.
