Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba has announced he will be leaving Ford Kenya for another party.
Speaking in Machewa ward in Bungoma, Khaemba said he has assisted Ford Kenya in many ways amidst claims that he has been working close with Deputy President William Ruto.
He said the claims were false.
Three weeks ago officials from his county held a meeting in which they faulted him for failing the county by refusing to collaborate with other leaders in the party to transform Bungoma.
Led by branch officials Martin Waliaula and Musombi Munabi Ford Kenya officials complained that Khaemba had stopped sponsoring party activities.
On his part, Khaemba downplayed the claims terming them baseless and driven by malice.
"One of those speaking acquired a tender in my government worth millions of shillings. Another one is a liason officer in my government, but believe me they have turned against me," he said as quoted by the Star.
The departure of Khaemba from Ford Kenya will change the politics of Bungoma.
There are speculations that Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa will be joining the race for Bungoma governor.
