The photographers snapped and sold the photos of the boat to curious and amazed residents. The boat was being taken to the lakeside town of Kisumu.

Abel Kimani, one of the photographers, told this writer that he sold more than a hundred photographs in a span of four hours during a stopover by the truck’s crew at the market centre to facilitate a mechanical check-up for the wide load transit goods truck.

He said curious residents who jammed the busy market centre posed for photos individually or in groups and families beside the truck loaded with the vessel. Others photographed the boat using their mobile phones.

“Today was my lucky day. I never thought Kenyans are such generous spenders when it comes to unfamiliar memorable encounters like this one,” said Kimani elatedly.

He said that he sold each photo at Sh40 down from Sh50 to attract more customers after printing them at a digital studio in Maili Kumi some four kilometres away.
