Wambui Kamiru Collymore, the wife of Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore, has reacted to online attacks by Kenyans on Twitter targetting her husband.
Under the hashtag #BeforeWambuiMarriedBob, the netizens had taken to Twitter to attack and blame Collymore and his wife for the 'misfortunes' Safaricom had brought their way.
“#BeforeWambuiMarriedBob I used to spend 10 bob for unlimited texts all day, now I use the same 10 bob for 200 texts per day,” one Towett tweeted using @Dmx254.
Some said that the couple's marriage was the reason their data bundles were depleting quickly.
“Data was a bit lasting #BeforeWambuiMarriedBob,” said @DenoDNB.
But there were those that came to Wambui's defence telling the trolls to spare her the attacks.
Kipkemoi Gilbert (@Rono_254) said: “If you have an issue with Safaricom, then deal with Bob Collymore, not his wife. Don’t be jealous of her. #BeforeWambuiMarriedBob.”
Wambui, hiwever, was quick to harvest from the wave of attention that was initially meant to harm their 10-month old marriage.
“I kind of like this #BeforeWambuiMarriedBob it gives me a chance to celebrate someone special in my life. Here’s a countdown,” she said in a tweet.
She posted her memorable pictures with the CEO, giving the world a rare glimpse of the CEO.
She wrote “#BeforeWambuiMarriedBob Wambui would never have known that socks come in many colours” and attached a photo of the CEO putting on multi-coloured socks (happy socks).
The happy wife also celebrated her CEO husband for helping restore her belief in chivalry.
“#BeforeWambuiMarriedBob Wambui may never have believed that chivalry is certainly not dead,” she said.
She did not delay to post a picture of Bob cutting a cake to celebrate his milestone achievements at Safaricom.
“#BeforeWambuiMarriedBob Wambui never knew one could cut so much cake in a year,” wrote Wambui.
