Speaking to this writer on Tuesday afternoon, the group's leader and founder Mama Pauline Orina, asked the government to also provide job opportunities to their children so that they can help them when they are getting old.

"I ask the county government to finance our group so that we can initiate projects to enable us provide for our families. I also ask Governor James Ongwae to employ some members and our children because we have struggled to provide them for a long time, and by doing so, some of us who have become old will get relieved of the yoke," she appealed.

However, the group secretary Henry Mabeya said the group has helped them to educate their children and even fend for their families.

Mabeya noted that they started a merry-go round that has seen their families propel to higher heights. He asked Kisii residents to embrace self-reliance by forming groups and initiating projects.

According to Mabeya, this will empower them economically and therefore avoid begging.

"Am living by testimony through the group and projects, I have managed to educate my two children to Varsity level. I therefore ask our people to be self-reliant by initiating their own projects," he advice.
