The incident took place few meters from chief’s residence.

The area chief, Justus Makori, said that there has been peace in the area and those trying to interfere with the security amongst the local people will be flashed out through intensive patrols by the security officers.

“I have received some complains over night attacks by unknown criminals, but we shall ensure that the security of the locals is given priority. I am very optimistic that such crooks will be flashed out as we have put in place the necessary measures to ensure normalcy is regained,” he said

The village has of late been marred with incidences of insecurity as the local people reportedly opt to express their animosity towards provincial administrators and the county security department claiming that they have done little to control the insecurity situation in the area.

“We are suffering because our security personnel engage in dubious activities around Central Business District as locals are left to provide security for themselves. We are appealing to the area OCPD to look into the situation and salvage the local people,” said Mogaka, a local resident.

Early this month, Kisii Central OCPD Tom Mutisya had issued a stun warning against those trying to attack the local people at wee hours. This was after several instances marred Kisii Town and its environs a situation which has drastically declined.
