John Nyangaresu was accused of beating and injuring Samuel Mwiru for refusing to pay additional fare of Sh50 which was against to their agreement.

The two agreed to a cost of Sh50 from Nakuru town to Shabaab but Nyangaresi changed the amount to Sh100 after reaching the destination claiming that the distance was too long and had too many challenges like dust and poor road net work.

According to Mwiru, the operator was too harsh and tried to tell him how they agreed but his effort did not assist him. The rider then parked his bike beside the road and attacked Mwiru with blows and kicks.

"The operator added the charges after reaching the destination. When I tried to stick to what we had agreed he attacked me, "said Mwiru.

Eye witness John Musau said he found the rider beating Mwiru and decided to intervene. He then told the rider to take client to the hospital but he refused then he decided to take the ignition key before calling the police who arrested the operator.

Nyangaresi will be taken to court on Monday to face assault charge. He is currently held at the Central Police Station. Mwiru was then taken to a nearby clinic for treatment.
