Boda boda operators operating near Maseno University have raised their concern over poor dressing habits by the students. The operators have said that some students are dressing in a manner that shows a lot of disrespect.
“I have been operating in Maseno for the past 8 years but I have never seen this. I am worried that with this trend, even our own children will start copying this dressing code,” said Peter Kuya, an operator from the area.
“How can one put on a tiny skirt and a small top exposing a large part of their bodies? I wonder what it costs to dress decently. The men are also following suit, putting on trousers so tight that they expose every shape of their bodies. This is very embarrassing,” said John Omullo, another boda boda operator.
Some operators even admitted that they don’t feel comfortable and as they carry some customers. Students have however refuted the claims saying that the operators didn't know about fashion thus causing them to criticize every cloth they put on.
“What is wrong with putting on something I feel comfortable in? They want us to put on those long clothes that wipe the ground to look decent. That will never be,” says Winnie Ondiso.
“My dress my choice,” added Mike Otini, another student.
