Boda boda operators in Kibera have complained of poor roads in the interior parts of the slum area.
Speaking on Saturday during the send off journey of their colleague Gorge Oyalo, their chairman Mr. Ochieng Douglas said that operators face lots of challenges especially when it rains.
''Our business is its peak but it is hard for us to be paid since the roads can't be accessed; customers want to pay us only when we safely take them home," said Ochieng.
He appealed to the relevant authority to fix the mess saying that this was their main source of livelihood.
''We have families to feed and children to educate. It is very bad if i tell my wife that i have gone to work yet in the evening i end up going home empty handed,'' he added.
Paul Makori who is a boda boda operator in the area said that the interior roads construction will not only help them but also the general public.
''What if a person is in need of quick treatment? Will they die in the interior because there is no quicker way the doctors can gain access to them?'' he asked.
Ochieng said that the muddy interior roads which needs to be constructed are in Mashimoni, Lindi and some parts of Laini saba.
