Speaking on Thursday afternoon in Matuu town, the secretary of Yatta-Masinga Chamber of Commerce Patrick Kyalo Nzioka stated high speed was increasingly causing unnecessary accidents.

Nzioka was speaking after a speeding motorist hit a pedestrian who sustained major injuries.

"I condemn highly irresponsible riding of motorcycles here in Matuu town because we are getting reports of accidents reported to the police and they are avoidable accidents," said Nzioka.

The chamber's secretary declared full support for young men hustling for their family through boda boda operations but advised on taking care of both their customers and pedestrians.

Nzioka warned against reckless driving which causes the drivers to lose control hence causing deaths or severe injuries to victims.

"Some minutes ago one motorist hit a woman walking along the road. If any motorist wants to fly, they should attend aviation courses to fly aeroplanes since motorcycles don't fly," he added.
