A boda-boda rider was on Friday charged before a Keroka court with defiling a class 8 pupil.

The accused, Kefah Momanyi aged 25 denied raping the class 8 candidate on July 13, 2017 in Masaba.

The prosecution told the court that the accused waylaid the girl at a well where she was fetching water and dragged her into a bush and defiled her.

The court released him on bond awaiting a hearing on November, 28. 

Cases of boda-boda operators raping minors have been on the rise since the boda-boda business started.
