The riders led by George Kigwaro claimed area MP Patrick Wainana should stop using PR in the constituency and work to improve roads in the region.

“We have an MP who has been using PR in the constituency since he won the elections last year. We want him to move with speed and repair the Kamenu-Kiganjo road which is impassable due to ongoing heavy rains,” he said.

The riders said the MP has until Monday next week to send constructors to start reparing the road failure to which they will plant bananas and block the road from use until it is repaired.

“Wainaina has until Monday next week to act or we plant bananas on the road and block it completely. We deserve access to good roads because we depend on boda boda businesses to feed our families,” said Johannes Kamau, another rider.

Andrew Kariuki, a trader in the area said boda boda riders have hiked transport fares after the road developed potholes.

Kariuki urged relevant authorities to repair the road to ease transport along the busy road in the area.
