Kisii town boda-boda operators and residents have demonstrated on Monday morning lamenting over the poor status of Kisii town-Kegogi road.
They said they have been urging the national government to construct the road but their grievances have never been addressed.
Speaking to journalists on Monday morning at Denmark Kisii town, boda-boda operators’ chairman Mick Mose said many of the riders depend on their transport business and the road is not in good condition leading to wear and tear of their motorbikes.
“Residents and boda-boda riders pay revenue why can’t the government use it to construct the road we are protesting to urge the national government to collaborate with the county and construct the road,” said Mose.
The road is under national government and they urged Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka to construct the road.
Former Kisii town businessmen chairman Walter Kiyondi blamed the county government for not urging the national government and to collaborate and make sure the road is well constructed.
“We petitioned the county and the national government through the county commissioner over the status of the road but the road remains the same we appeal to the both government to construct the road,” said Kiyondi.
