Boda Boda riders in Kisii South Sub County have been advised to stop operating their businesses at night.
According to Gesonso police station officer in charge of crime Emmanuel Rono, riders have been losing their lives at night because thugs are taking advantage of the darkness to attack and kill them.
Rono called on riders to ensure they operate within a stipulated timeline for the sake of their safety.
“The number of riders operating at night losing their lives is higher than those operating during the daytime. I wish to urge the boda boda riders to close business by 8 pm daily for the sake of their safety,” said Rono.
The officer assured that police officers have intensified security patrols across the Sub County.
“We have done everything possible boost security in Kisii South Sub County to ensure lives of people and property is protected. Riders should report any criminal they may be suspecting who is attacking and killing their colleagues,” he added.
Rono was speaking at Riana in Kisii South Sub County on Friday when a body of a boda boda was found dumped at a roadside.
