The residents have now raised an alarm that if the trend persists the area will in the future see the boy child lose academically.

"The bodaboda industry is ruining our boys academic progress from primary to secondary school. Many have dropped school to join the business. Education is the key to life but our boys have decided to go against. They no longer want to attend school. Shortcuts in life will see most of them suffer in future," said Joseph Oyaro.

Patrick Opiyo said that in future Kisii will be having a group of unqualified male personnel against skilled ladies.

He urged that boy-child education has deteriorated in Kisii county since the bodaboda business was introduced.

"Something urgent needs to be done to save the boy-child like the girl-child. The increased school dropouts will see many youths turning to gangs to terrorise the people," said Moses Ayienda.
