The motor bike operator, Martin Kimani was carrying two passengers, before his bike veered off the road and hit the young boy, who was walking by the roadside, causing serious injuries including a fractured limb.

Kimani, who escaped unhurt, tried to run on foot, but he was followed by fellow riders, who accused him of painting motorbike operators in a bad picture, resulting in an argument, where Kimani was beaten by the angry riders, who accused him of carelessness.

However, Kinani said he was not running but looking for a nearby clinic to take the boy for treatment.

The two passengers escaped with minor injuries and were able to continue with their journey.

According to an eyewitness Morgan Owino, the motorcycle was at high speed and failed to negotiate a sharp corner, before it hit the boy, who was carrying water.

"The motor bike failed to negotiate a sharp corner and hit the boy who was on the other side of the road,” said Owino.

The boy was taken to Nakuru County hospital for treatment, while Kimani, who was treated at a nearby clinic for minor injuries, is at central police station.
