Police in Mogotio, Nakuru are holding a bodaboda operator who is accused of impregnating four school girls in Gumberechi village.
Area Chief Cheruiyot Biwott says that the 31-year-old man allegedly impregnated three primary school pupils and one secondary school girl from Gumberechi primary and secondary schools respectively.
He said the girls aged between 14 and 17 have confessed to sleeping with the bodaboda operator on various months this year.
Biwott said that the suspect has allegedly been using gifts and money to lure the girls into having sex with him.
“We are holding the suspect and will arraign him in court once investigations are complete,” he said.
The chief observed that cases of teenage pregnancies are on the rise in the area and he asked youth to refrain from premature sex.
Mogotio senior children official Erick Kurgat condemned the incident and called for quick and thorough investigations. He said that such acts should not be allowed in society and that teenage girls should take their education seriously.
Kurgat stated that an awareness campaign to sensitize youth on matters of sexuality will be carried out in the sub-county soon.
