Moses Orido was carrying two men on his motorbike from Nakuru town to Kenlands estate, but when he reached near the Red Cross gate, one of the men told him to stop so that he could go for a short call.

According to Orido, that is when one of them drew a pistol, and ordered him to surrender the keys before they disappeared with the new Kingbird motorcycle.

Orido was left without anything as they also robbed him of some cash and his handset.

He further noted that he is at a loss on how he will pay for the motorbike, which he said he bought on loan and he was still in the process of repaying for the loan,

“I bought the bike on loan, I had only paid Sh25,000 out of Sh110,000 and now the motorcycle has gone, I don't know what to do,” said Orido.

Orido, a father of eight, said the motorcycle was the only source of income and wondered how he will cater for his large family without any source.

Incidents of bodaboda operators being robbed of their bikes is on the rise in Nakuru, after yet another similar incident at Kivumbini estate last week.

He reported the incident at Nakuru police station but the bike has not yet recovered.
